Disney Vacation Home Rentals

No doubt Disney World is a great vacation destination. Whether you have kids or are just a kid at heart, the Magic Kingdom truly is magical. There are places to stay right on the grounds, but for a large family or group, Disney vacation home rentals may be more cost effective.

There are many rentals in the Orlando area, most just minutes from the park. It's a good idea to have a rental car as public transportation is minimal and expensive. This can be arranged at the time you book your rental home. A lot of houses are available with fully equipped kitchens, pools, cable, internet access, and all the comforts of home. The houses are cleaned before arrival and periodic cleaning during your stay can be arranged while you're out enjoying Disney, Sea World, and all Orlando has to offer.

You can also rent a condo or townhome in the same area. These are in gated communities with playgrounds, gyms, public pools, and golf courses. How nice to relax in one after a hectic day with Mickey and Minnie. These are a bit smaller than the rental homes, but cost effective for smaller groups. In many cases the cost of a Disney rental is less than a motel, especially if you are sharing the expenses with a group.

My husband and I spent a week in the Disney campgrounds along with other family members. It was very nice, but also confining in such a small place with tired, cranky children. How much more fun it would have been to have a house to escape to after a long day. We spent a lot of time riding the monorail around the park when our nephews got too cranky. I guess I should mention we don't have kids and crying children is like fingernails on a chalkboard to my husband. Next time, we'll rent a house.

Disney World and other nearby attractions have a dizzying array of things to do. Enjoy every bit of it and when you've had enough, retreat to your Disney vacation home, grill a burger, sit by the pool, and relax. That's what a vacation is for.
