South Of The Border, Mexican Vacation Homes

If Cancun is too commercial for you, the Mayan Riviera is just 12 miles away. With spectacular beaches and quaint villages renting a home or condo for your vacation could not be simpler. Management companies own most of the vacation rentals and will be able to find one of the lovely Mexican vacation homes to suit your needs.

Playa Secreto, Puerto Morelos, and Playa Del Carmen all have villas for rent. They are in a secluded, gated area, with private pools and beach access. It is just a short drive to view Mayan ruins and the villas will provide a van for your use. There are guided tours or you can just explore on your own.

Fishing and golfing are popular activities and the golf courses are beautiful. If you feel you might be too far from civilization, take heart, there is a Wal-Mart nearby and smaller local markets to buy groceries. Swimming with dolphins and scuba diving can also be arranged.

In the evening, there is a Mayan festival complete with dancing and an ancient game called Ulama. It is educational and entertaining for children and adults. Whether you're going to Acapulco, Cozamel, Cabo San Lucas, or somewhere more off the beaten path, you will be able to find a vacation home to your liking.

Small bungalows are great for a romantic getaway, while villas offer a larger space for groups or family reunions. Prices may sound a bit high for the villas, but if you compare them to hotel accommodations for a large group, you'll come out ahead.

Smaller rental homes in less tourist traveled areas can be very affordable and no less exotic. Check with your travel agent. Mexican vacation homes may be just what you've been looking for.
